Lesley Gemmell, Club Administrator:
Lesley started with the Club in March 2002 as one of two admin supports, looking after AJSC Victorian Churches teams and taking on the role of Secretary.
Over the years her role has grown into a diverse admin position. Now assisting the Committees to manage the daily and weekly demands of the Club year round, Lesley has enjoyed seeing Ashy grow and develop into a strong, vibrant Community Club. Lesley was recognised as a Life Member by the Club in 2020.
Lesley’s children, Katelyn and Cameron had a very brief taste of soccer in GoalKick. Their interests, however, are not sporting, with the pair preferring music theatre which Katelyn is currently studying and Cameron is now working in Japan at Universal Studios. They have been very active within the Club over the years, both working as Canteen manager and working diligently on the Warner and Markham barbecues. Lesley's husband Robin has also been a huge support, assisting voluntarily with all sorts of tasks. The family were very pleased to be recognised as Club Person of the Year in 2019.
Billy McClure, Youth Coordinator and Programs Manager (He/Him):
Billy arrived in Australia in July 2017 and joined Ashy shortly after. Initially coaching the U12 Wallabies, he has taken on more roles over the seasons, starting with Futsal Manager and Interim Youth Coordinator and now as Programs Manager. Billy is responsible for all our junior teams, futsal competitions, and school and holiday programs. He works closely with Steve and Lesley in the office to help the club run smoothly on a day-to-day basis, and collaborates with our Technical Director to ensure we're building an exciting and successful youth program.
Billy has extensive experience coaching in England and the United States. Starting out with his younger brother's Under-7s team in his native Shropshire aged 15, he moved onto academy and high school teams before running a development program for over 200 children in Atlanta, Georgia.
You'll find Billy somewhere around the grounds on most days, carrying on the legacy of our former Director of Football, Nico Decaup. Billy has a passion for working with coaches to help them achieve their goals, whether in football or not, and creating players who contribute to our society both on and off the pitch.
