Our newest girls’ team has been named 8s Stensholts to acknowledge the contribution made by the Stensholt family to the girls’ and women’s program.
The family moved to Melbourne in 1996 and called Ashburton Soccer Club their home. Their daughters’ Kristin and Sophia were the only girls starting in the U8 boys then. Both have remain connected with the club since with Sophia recently coaching the Miniroos.
Bob Stensholt together with David Teagle, presidents respectively, amalgamated both Ashburton Women’s Soccer Club and Ashburton United in 2015 and became truly United with women, juniors and men all playing under one. Ros has always been involved with the running of the canteen.
