Ashburton Announce Senior and Reserve Coaching Panel for 2017

Daniel Costi Puscasu Senior Coach 2017Ashburton United is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel ‘Costi’ Puscasu as the senior men’s coach for season 2017.

Costi joins from Eastern Lions, having previously been the first team coach of Springvale City, which he guided to a State 5 Championship followed by a Runners Up in State league 4.

His coaching experience extends across six years, including stints at local rivals Riversdale, as well as Rowville Eagles, which he led to a Championship in the former FFV Provisional League. Complementing his coaching experience is a Senior FFA Senior Coaches license.

Costi describes himself as a hands-on coach, who puts emphasis on playing football to feet, developing players’ confidence and building a winning mentality and team spirit. He is looking forward to meeting existing players as well as encouraging Ashburton juniors into senior ranks as the club seeks to reclaim its position in State League 3.

Joining Costi are Nick Rossios as Seniors Assistant Coach and Rob Nicovski in a Team Manager role. Both Nick and Rob have a strong football pedigree, having worked closely with Costi in the past.

Ashburton is also delighted to announce that it has retained the services of Fernando Hompart as Reserves coach for 2017.

Fernando has been a revelation since joining Ashburton and will continue his excellent work developing younger players for first team football.

Fernando brings with him a wealth of football experience, having played with some of Melbourne’s biggest clubs as well as coaching Brandon Park seniors more recently.

The club is thrilled that Fernando’s infamous catch-cry of ‘One team, One Green’ will continue to reverberate around Ashburton Park in 2017.

Dates for pre-season training will be announced shortly. Any new players are welcome to contact Andrew Dodds for further information on 0411-059-451 or email
